Kristin Mahan has been a family nurse practitioner since 2011 with experience in primary care for adults ages 14 and up.
Kristin obtained her nurse practitioner degree from Sacred Heart University in 2011. She was the recipient of the Gold Medal of Excellence from Sacred Heart University, which acknowledges those students who achieve academic excellence. She is board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in family practice.
Kristin is proud of her 18-year experience as an RN, and credits her strong nursing background as the reason for her success as an APRN. Most recently, Kristin worked at the William W. Backus Hospital in their Backus Health Center in Montville. There, she worked as a primary care provider, as well as in their busy urgent care center.
Kristin’s main objective is to provide quality primary care to patients ages 14 and up in a welcoming, soothing environment. As a nurse practitioner, the main focus is on health promotion, disease prevention as well as management of many diseases including diabetes, elevated blood pressure, obesity, and high cholesterol. Kristin’s practice also offers physical examinations, sick visits, DOT physicals, routine gynecologic screenings, immunizations, and referrals to specialty practices when indicated.
